Welcome Letter 2025–2026

Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Yolo High School. I’m truly excited to begin this new year with you. Whether you’re just joining us or returning to continue your journey, I want you to know this: you belong here.
Yolo is not your typical high school. We’re a small campus with big purpose. We’re a team of adults who care deeply about helping students grow, not just academically, but as people. We know many of our students have had a rough start, but this is a place where you can reset, rebuild, and move forward.
This year, we’re leaning into our new mission, which says it best:
Yolo High School empowers students through a supportive and inclusive school community by fostering strong relationships between staff and students.
Our students are offered a variety of high-interest, relevant academic options to help open doors for their future.
When students leave Yolo, we want them to have the social and emotional tools to create a healthy, positive life for themselves.

Our job isn’t just to hand out diplomas, it’s to prepare students for what comes next. By the time graduation week arrives, our vision is for every student to walk out of here ready to:
- Be responsible, self-motivated, and on time
- Advocate for themselves and know how to ask for help
- Think critically and creatively, even when things get hard
- Navigate real-world systems or making big life choices
- Be independent, adaptable, confident, and ready to dream bigger
We’re going to keep working on this together, through strong relationships, a lot of support, and high expectations. We will challenge you and cheer you on every step of the way.
To our families: thank you for trusting us. Your support matters. Stay connected, ask questions, and know that we’re here to partner with you in every way possible. When school and family work together, great things happen for our students.
Let’s make this a strong, meaningful year, one where every student takes real steps toward a brighter future.
With pride and commitment,
Noe Guerra, Principal
